A chieftain of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), and senatorial aspirant for Anambra South Senatorial bye-election, Hon Patrick Ubajaka has canvassed for an indigene of Nnewi who possesses the requisite qualifications and character to replace the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in the Red Chambers when INEC fixes the election date.

Ubajaka , a former Chairman of Nnewi North LGA in a chat with journalists in Awka said such an arrangement has been the norm in such situations while among those jostling for to fill up the vacuum created by Ubah’s painful demise, he is the most eminently qualified.

“If it was in a developed world, there won’t even be an election, his wife, brother or other close relative will be nominated to replace him, depending on which of them is interested. Even here in Anambra, it has been done, so they should allow us to complete the tenure of our late brother”

“I’m eminently qualified to vie for this position by whatever standard, but what I’m saying is that the people of Nnewi North should be allowed to complete the tenure of their brother, and if you come to Nnewi, I’m the closest to him. I and the late Ifeanyi Ubah vote in the same polling unit, and his brother is also marrying my sister. That is to show you how close we are.” He said

Speaking of his programmes for the people of the zone, Ubajaka said he is coming to the contest prepared, and has lined up several programmes that will change the lives of the people of Anambra South zone.

He marshalled out some of them to include; facilitation and provision of basic amenities, quality representation through sponsorship of impactful bills, grassroots sports development, and above all running an open door policy.

“I will be a voice you will be proud of on the floor of the senate. As a business man with decades of experience in transportation, distribution and retail sales, and construction, I will facilitate and sponsor bills that will impact positively to our business communities,”

Ubajaka, while appealing to APGA leadership to consider him fly the party ticket, assured the people of the zone that his legislative agenda will be in line with Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s vision of making Anambra a peaceful, secure, livable, and prosperous state in Nigeria.

“For me, the desire to run for the Senate of Anambra South is both a divine orchestration and a well informed decision to serve the people. I have been in APGA since the inception of the party. If you look closely at the current government in a Anambra State, you would find out that all that Governor Soludo is doing is to give life to the very ideology that makes APGA the foremost Progressives party in Nigeria. It is this kind of politics I want to take to the Red chamber because it resonates with my life essence” he stated.
