The Action Alliance (AA) has refuted recent claims regarding a change in its leadership, saying that the party is intact and remains under the chairmanship of Hon Adekunle Rufai Omoaje.

This is coming against the backdrop of a recent claim by Mr Kenneth Udeze that he has been affirmed as the national chairman of the party, relying on a Supreme Court judgment.

But the party in a statement signed by its National chairman, Hon Omoaje said the Supreme Court judgment relied upon by Udeze has nothing to do with the leadership of the party.

He said “contrary to misleading reports as released by expelled member of our Party, Mr Kenneth Udeze, in his purported press release. The Supreme Court in its ruling has no bearing on the authentic Chairman of our great party, the National Executive Committee (NEC), the States Executive Committee (SEC), Local Government executives and even the ward executives under the leadership of Adekunle Rufai Omoaje who remains the authentic National Chairman of Action Alliance.

“The misinformation circulated in the media, along with the so-called judicial battle, was nothing more than an orchestrated scheme designed to mislead the public and destabilize our party.

“It’s a fact in the public domain that the judgements of Federal High Court, Abeokuta in suit number FHC/AB/CS/120/2022, Appeal Court of Abuja division in Appeal Court No. CA/IB/378/2022 and Supreme Court ruling delivered by Mohammed Lawal Garba in the open court on Monday 14th May, 2024 before their Lordships; Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, Chioma Egondu Nwosu-Iheme, Haruna Simon Tsammani and Jamilu Yammama Tukur, in SC/CV/1488/2022 between Action Alliance and Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) delivered and affirmed the judgements of the trial Court in Abeokuta and Appeal Court, Abuja division that Kenneth Udeze has been expelled from the Action Alliance.

“The two names mentioned in the suit were not known to both the Action Alliance and INEC. In the suit, Hon. Frederick Ighiwiyi and one Osaro Uwaifo were mentioned as parties in the case.

“On the candidates list of INEC for Edo State Gubernatorial election 2024, Iseghohi Tom was the AA candidate for Kenneth Udeze. How come two different candidates were fighting in the court without involving the most beneficial of the same post they are fighting on?

“We are not surprised with such antics, Kenneth Udeze is like a leopard who can’t change his colour. He is found of using fictitious names to seek fraudulent judgement without joining Adekunle Rufai Omoaje to the suit.

“The leadership of Action Alliance remains firmly intact with Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the duly elected National Chairman of Action Alliance as monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, on 7th of October, 2023. We urge our members, supporters, and the general public to disregard any false narratives suggesting otherwise. These deceptive tactics are attempts to sow division, but we remain united and committed to our core mission of serving the people,” he added.
