Popular Nigerian Afro-pop singers Innocent Ujah Idibia (2Baba), Mr. P (Peter Okoye), Tekno, Khalid, Commissioner DJ Wysei, Wizard Chan, and Starblinks delivered scintillating performances to thrill their numerous fans, including some visiting Black Americans, at the Opu-Nembe All-Stars Night organised by philanthropist Dr Kojo Sam at Opu-Nembe, Nembe Local Government Area.

2Baba, in an interview after the performance, commended the people for their peaceful disposition during the show. He also praised the state government for the developmental progress recorded in Bayelsa State.

The African musical icon urged Niger Delta leaders to emulate the sponsor of the Opu-Nembe All-Stars Night, Dr Kojo Sam, in bringing joy to their people.

Dr Kojo Sam, in an interview with newsmen, recalled the turmoil that had engulfed the community and the efforts made to ensure peace returned to the area.

He commended President Bola Tinubu, Inspector General of Police Kayode Ebetokun, and Bayelsa State Governor Senator Douye Diri for their peace efforts. He particularly lauded Governor Diri for setting up the peace committee headed by Rear Admiral Victor Ombu (rtd).

According to him, the committee is progressing well in its assignment, which he hopes will bring lasting peace to the community.

He implored all residents of the community to rededicate themselves to peace and live in harmony.

“For the past three years, a lot has happened. The community was in serious crisis, leading to loss of property and lives. By the grace of God and the help of the IGP, we got back our community. Now the community is happy, and everybody is happy. We have put a lot of resources into ensuring we have a good Yuletide celebration. We have brought back the memories of celebration in Opu-Nembe through the display of our cultural heritage,” he said.
